For your first assignment you will be asked to make a salad and follow these criteria.
1. Your salad must have a leafy green base to it, and must include a dressing. There are many types of leafy greens to choose from such as: Romaine lettuce, Boston lettuce, Buttercrunch lettuce, frisée, spinach, kale, arugula, and so many more. As well, your salad must include a dressing of some kind, though it can be a simple one.
2. You must make the dressing from scratch You can follow a recipe or make something up, but no matter what it has to be made by you, not out of a bottle. If you want to try experimenting with a simple vinaigrette you can always check out the basics of how to do that here, or check the videos page.
3. You must document yourself preparing this salad. Video is the best, but pictures of you cooking will suffice if you can't do video. You must also present me with your recipe, which must include an ingredient list (you can use approximate quantities like, 1 carrot, or half a head of lettuce, and so on) and should have some directions. Don't forget to include the ingredients you used for your dressing!
Please use the Dropbox link below to submit your assignment. This is my preferred method of submission, but you can send it to my email ([email protected]) or give it to me on USB. The recipe can be included as a digital file, or you may hand in a hard copy.
Bonus!
If you want some ideas for what could go into a salad, check this out,
